Galway Convention Bureau Commitment

At Galway Convention Bureau, we believe that diversity is a strength, equity is a responsibility, and inclusion is a promise. We are committed to creating a welcoming, accessible, and representative environment for all, whether you're planning a conference, attending an event, or partnering with us to showcase Galway to the world.

GCB & the county of Galway are committed to an inclusive environment which respects diversity of characteristics including, but not limited to, the following: sexual orientation, age, gender, race, ethnicity, family status, disability, civil status, and religious beliefs. We commit to treating people fairly and respecting the dignity of employees, the community and visitors at all.

We celebrate the human experience and strive to ensure that every voice is heard, respected, and empowered. At GCB, we have a zero-tolerance policy towards harassment, bullying and discrimination. We believe in equality on every level and provide everyone with opportunity based on their ability or potential to perform the required activity.

As a gateway to Ireland’s west coast, we aim to ensure that every meeting and gathering reflects the values of openness, fairness, and belonging. We work closely with planners and partners to embed inclusive practices at every stage of the event journey as requested by ambassadors. We can support your event or conference with the following:

  • Selecting venues with requested accessibility needs

  • Offering multilingual support via our website (Accessibility Assistant and Language Translator available immediately to assist navigating our GCB site) and at events as requested.

  • Prioritising dietary, sensory, and cultural needs specified

  • Assistive technologies needed for event

  • Local wellness spaces/practices as required

Galway’s 2023–2031 Tourism Strategy emphasises accessibility as a core principle, aiming to create a “vibrant and integrated destination that respects its unique culture and environment” while celebrating diversity and sustainable practices.
