Q3 Wrap-Up: A Summer to Remember at Galway Convention Bureau
As Q3 draws to a close and autumn air envelops Galway, we reflect on what a productive and upbeat summer it’s been, full of meaningful connections, memorable site visits and exciting events.
Celebrating Community at Micil Distillery
We hosted a member’s event at Micil Distillery in Salthill, where the spirit of Galway, both literally and figuratively, was on full display. Members were taught all about the rich heritage of craft distilling from Connemara and just how much goes on at the award-winning Distillery.
Storytelling at the Galway Film Fleadh
In July, we were proud to host a number of our Galway conference ambassadors at the premiere of famous Irish director, Jim Sheridan’s powerful new film about Sophie Toscan du Plantier, a poignant and thought-provoking story that effectively captured the attention of the audience. The evening continued with a relaxed and lively gathering at the Rowing Club, where delegates and friends of the Bureau gathered to enjoy conversation and First Bite's catering.
Racing into Summer at the Galway Races
We kicked off Races season in style, attending Galway's Best Hotels event on Monday and then hosting our Gaway conference ambassadors on Tuesday at the iconic Galway Races. The week was a whirlwind of excitement, elegance, and networking, as we welcomed guests to experience one of Ireland’s most celebrated sporting and social events.
It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase Galway’s hospitality and charm to both local and international attendees.
Site Visits, Beach Clean & A Warm Welcome for Laura
Throughout the summer, we embarked on a multitude of site visits across the city and county, exploring venues, meeting new GCB members, and deepening our understanding of their offerings. We even participated in a beach clean-up with the Galway Alantaquaria (see last blogpost).
We would like to extend a big thank you to our kind and generous members who gave their time and expertise to help familiarise, our Sales & Marketing Executive, Laura, with all that Galway has to offer.
A Summer to Remember
From the racetrack to the red carpet, this summer has been a testament to the vibrancy and versatility of Galway as a business tourism destination.
We’re proud to have sparked meaningful connections, as our members join forces to create new opportunities together.
We are looking forward to another successful and busy season ahead!
